Statement

I am looking for a university that not only has a good softball program but also good academics. I have learned that getting a degree from a great institution will get me far in life. From the softball aspect, I am looking for a program where the team works hard, enjoys playing the game of softball and is led by coaches who motivate and respect their players.

I am a team player and do whatever I can to make my team better. I see my role on a team as always giving 100% in whatever I am doing, whether that is on or off the field.

I am a workhorse and will stay before or after practice to get better. I have a lot of experience and have played with and against some of the best softball players in the country. Tony Rico, my old Firecracker coach, stressed being respectful as a player and respecting the game of softball. I have really taken his life lessons to heart and continue to follow them.

I throw a fastball, change up, curve ball, screw ball, rise ball, drop curve and roll-over drop. I have always been a curve ball, screw ball pitcher and can say that those, along with my change up, are definitely my bread-and-butter pitches. I can use my drop and rise as waste pitches if I am ahead in the count, but ultimately my three best pitches are curve, screw, and change. I consistently throw in the low- to mid-60s mph. My change up speed is between 40-45 mph.

Having been part of a Big Ten college softball program over the past two seasons, I can say that the adjustment of being a student-athlete has become easier and easier each year. I've gotten up at 5:30 a.m. for 6:00 a.m. weightlifting, attended class, got my study table hours in, while maintaining good grades and staying healthy athletically.

I hope you enjoy this website and hope to talk to you in the future.
